How to use many daśās at the same time?

In BPHS many daśās was given by the sage Parāśara. As I learned from my guruji Vishal Aksh, when reading a chart many daśās has to be used at the same time, as is only in this way that we can see the big picture of the life of a person. But how to do this? Well, for applying many daśās, basically, we have to look for alignments between them. Here is an example of this:

The man of this chart is from Brasil, his name is Alexandre Piccini and he travelled to Europe in september of 2013 to realize his doctorate on philosophy. Some months before, he asked me if it would really occur, as it was not confirmed yet at this time. I said yes, he would do it. Now see the mahādaśās which was going on when he did the travel:

-          Viṁśottarī daśā of Jupiter since 10.2011 and ending in 10.2027.
-          Śātābdikā daśā of Saturn since 04.1985 and ending in 04.2015.
-          Kālacakra daśā of Capricorn since 01.2010 and ending in 01.2014.
-          Yogini daśā of Rāhu since 05.2013 and ending in 05.2021.
-          Cara daśā of Leo since 02.2010 and ending in 02.2016.

Here i took only one conditional daśā, the Śātābdikā as this person has vargottama lagna. The other daśās are universal daśās, so it can be applied in any chart.

Now observe the following:

(1)  Through Śātābdikā daśā Saturn is activated since 1985, and it’s the 12th lord in 4th house. He is in a parivartana yoga with Venus, the 4th and 9th lord, but he did the foreign travel only in 2013, why?

(2)  See that in Viṁśottarī daśā Jupiter was activated in 2011, and some time after it he did the travel. Jupiter is conjoined the 4th and 9th lord Venus in 12th house, he is the 2th and 11th lord, and his studies was financed by the school’s program. Through Kālacakra we see that Capricorn was activated in 2010.

(3)  In Yogini daśā Rāhu was activated at the moment of the travel, and here we see him occupying P. Aṣāḍhā, a nakṣatra of Venus. Rāhu is also connected with foreign travels and his conjunction with 3th and 10th lord Mars in Sagittarius shows the doctorate work on philosophy that this native was going to perform.

(4)  Cara daśā of Leo was going on, and it is the navāṁśa position of Venus, lord of 4th and 9th in navāṁśa as well. Here Venus occupies the 7th, another important house for travels. Jupiter also aspect Venus here as 2th and 11th lord reinforcing the yoga of natal chart.

After this we can conclude that:

(1)  When a certain daśā promises an event, we have to look this same event in different daśās before declare when it will occur. In this case we see that although Śātābdikā daśā promised a foreign travel in his daśā, it occurred only when Viṁśottarī, Kālacakra, Yogini and Cara daśā indicated the same.

(2)  If a certain yoga is present in the chart, it will be fully activated only when different daśās activate the planets involved in the yoga, otherwise only partial results will be felt.

(3)  Getting different mahādaśās and cross checking them helps us to understand in which portion of a certain mahādaśā an event will occur, after this, the event can be confirmed by the analysis of antardaśās and transits as well.

(4)  Using many daśās is very tempting, but we have to be cautious when applying them as the more daśās we apply, more complex the reading will be. It enhances the difficulty sometimes, so my advice is to analyse first the viṁśottarī daśā and gives more emphasis on this one, as it is very reliable and can explain every kind of event perfectly.

I hope this article be useful.
